My stepdad, Smitty, is facing cancer for the third time. After his second diagnosis, the radiation treatments were so hard on his throat and neck that he lost the ability to swallow and had to get a peg tube. Since then, he’s struggled with frequent aspiration, which has made daily life incredibly challenging. Recently, his doctors told him he can no longer sleep in a regular bed because it puts him at risk for more health complications.

We’re hoping to raise enough money to get Smitty an adjustable bed. This would allow him to sleep at an incline, helping to prevent aspiration and making him much more comfortable. It’s a simple change that could make a huge difference in his quality of life and give him some relief during this difficult time.
