I have a 5-month-old French bulldog. I am a first-time owner and on Sunday, 1/4/26, my little guy had several seizures. Covered in vomit, gums white, body limp. Rushed to the emergency vet clinic, and after a day stay and every test imaginable, they couldn't tell me what's wrong.
Monday, 1/5/26 update on Smalls:
Dr. called and said they couldn't explain the cause of seizures. Couldn't explain the throwing up or low blood sugar. They are sending him home with antibiotics, diarrhea medication because he has loose stool, a probiotic, and a dewormer. But they said his recovery is remarkable. Extremely quick considering he had almost "died." We just have to watch him. Emergency vet bill.over night stay. Every blood test possible. Its just the beginning
1/8/26: Smalls just stares off with a blank look. Not hyper. Nowhere near how he was before all of this. Called and spoke to the vet. Answered a few questions. Vet wasn't immediately concerned but advised us to bring him back if things worsen.
1/9/26: Jonathan and I are still concerned with the way he is. No emotion. No playing. Just standing in one spot. Will only eat if hand-fed and has to be given water through a syringe. We decided we needed a referral to see a neurologist.
1/10/26: Called and requested a referral to see why our little guy isn't himself.
Unfortunately, my 11 and 10-year-old sons found him in this state and held him in their arms while being rushed to the vet. In tears, worried their dog's not going to make it and pleading with me to do everything possible to make it happen. As a mom, all I ever want is to protect my children and do whatever I can to make them happy. If you can find it in your heart to help with current and future vet bills, I'd be so appreciative. Not just for Smalls but for my entire family. Smalls is a member of the family and the sooner he gets better, the happier the boys will be.
