On the weekend, our good mate Sam Lowe suffered a horrific and completely unexpected injury in a freak football accident, dislocating his hip and fracturing his pelvis.

What was meant to be another day playing the sport Sam loves has suddenly turned into a long road of hospital treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.

Unfortunately, this is another incredibly tough setback for Sam, who has already had a rough few years dealing with injuries. After spending so much time battling his way through previous setbacks and working hard to get himself back playing, Sam was already facing shoulder surgery in the near future. He now has the added challenge of recovering from this serious hip and pelvic injury before he can even turn his attention to the next hurdle.

Sam is facing a significant period away from football and normal day-to-day life while he works towards getting back on his feet. Alongside him through this difficult time is his partner, Leish, who will be there supporting Sam throughout his recovery.

While Sam focuses on getting better, the reality is that everyday life doesn’t stop. Mortgage, groceries, bills, medical and rehabilitation expenses, transport and all the other costs that come with simply getting through each week can quickly become a huge burden when you’re unable to work and your life is suddenly turned upside down.

We’re asking our friends, family, teammates and wider community to come together and help take some of that financial pressure away from Sam and Leish.
