My name's Megan and I am fundraising to help cover medical bills for my husband Alex. These bills are necessary to save my husband's vision.

Alex has been diagnosed with Keratoconus in both of his eyes. Keratoconus is a degenerative eye disease. More information can be found here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/keratoconus/symptoms-causes/syc-20351352

Basically what is happening is my husband is losing his sight in both eyes. When he was originally diagnosed a treatment was not available. There is one now called corneal collagen cross-linking which is our only hope for slowing down the deterioration in his eyes.

It is important that we are able to get this surgery done as soon as possible. The doctors operate on eyes separately and we have a date set for March 18, 2025 to operate on the worse of the two eyes.

Unfortunately, our insurance is not covering everything. We are very fortunate to have ANY coverage but we are still looking at roughly $1,000 per eye out of pocket and expenses during recovery.

Obviously this entire situation is very stressful. The funds I am trying to raise will not only cover the medical expenses but also help us with the day to day aspects of recovery for Alex.
