Help Slice Inc Black Owned Pizzeria After a Fire

On October 19th, a life-long dream of Adam Kado and Hosie Thurmond went up in smoke. The owners of Slice, a Black-owned pizzeria in the N.E. neighborhood in Minneapolis, were devastated when someone set their booming pizzeria on fire. Slice was not just a pizzeria. It represented the American dream for Kado who grew up working in a pizza shop after his father came to America for a better life. Kado learned the ins and outs of running a business and dreamed of one day entering the entrepreneurial space.
The opportunity came and on Oct. 2nd, Kado and his childhood best friend Hosie opened their doors to the community, a place where families could gather and order an affordable meal.
Kado and Thurmond were determined to show others that you can make a living while making a difference. Business was booming! Two weeks after opening, their dream business was in flames. Kado and Thurmond are determined to reopen and need your support to rebuild, replace kitchen equipment, restock refrigerator, restock produce, repair smoke damage, contract new electrical work, pay employees while space is inoperable, purchase a surveillance system, and other costs associated with reopening Slice.
We need to support them in sustaining this business during the rebuild. Slice Inc. Will be closed for business until renovations are completed and their employees will be out of work because of this travesty. As a community leader and friend of the owners, I stand with them during their time of need.
