Help Trudy Tilseth kick cancers butt

Current update 12/11/19 This morning she met with an oncologist from Mayo, we were looking for them to support the treatment plan that was laid out by her first oncologist( which consisted of chemo, surgery and more chemo). Unfortunately that is not how the morning went. It is in their opinion (they are the experts for a reason) that treatment plan would not be effective with as advanced as Trudy’s cancer is. There are to many areas of cancer for surgery to be an option. They are recommending palliative care at this point, that will consist of putting in a feeding tube, mild chemo to treat symptoms and hopefully shrink the tumor in her esophagus so she can eat and give her a quality of life for as long as they can. They really didn’t give any time frame on this. We do not know what Gods plan is, but we do know that He is sovereign over all of it and that nothing we heard today is is a surprise to Him. He is still on the throne and this will bring him glory. Benjamin has been staying with his dad a majority of the time since November 4th, he is doing ok but will need our love, support and prayers moving forward. Bill and Judy, Trudy’s mom and dad have moved in with her and help get her to where she needs to be as you can imagine this is very hard on them too so keep them in your prayers. Update: Everything we thought it was, it isn’t! Today (November 26th) Trudy met with the gastro oncologist today, we were told she has stage 4 stomach cancer (there is a more technical name, but this is what it is). The biopsy of the mass on her ovary revealed that she does not have two separate cancers but that the cancer has metastasized to her ovary. The oncologist presented how he would like to proceed with treatment which would include chemo, surgery and more chemo, she however needs to have a second opinion from Mayo for the insurance to look at this as a viable option. So now we wait some more, please pray for Trudy, her mom and dad, Benjamin, her ex husband Steven and her N6 and a few other close friends who are walking along side her. Next pray for the stupid insurance to come through ASAP so treatment can begin, pray that if the Mayo oncologist have a better plan it is presented in a timely fashion. One of the things about being single is that you survive off from one income, Trudy has not worked since November 1st and will not be working in the foreseeable future. However, rent, insurance deductibles and other living expenses still need to be paid. We will be asking for help with meals in the future but for right now Trudy’s mom (who loves to cook) is making sure meals are taken care of. We know that God is on the throne, we trust that He is a God of Miracles, we believe that He is in this, we know that He walks along side her, before her and will carry Her through this journey. Please share! Dear friends,
You are being invited to join in helping a beloved daughter, loving single mother and sweet friend who needs support from her community as she undergoes surgery and treatment in the days and months ahead.

Background: Our dear sister Trudy started feeling ill  a few weeks ago. After visiting her primary care physician, a large mass was found on her right ovary. She will need to have this removed, at which time there can be a definitive diagnosis. In addition, doctors have ordered a full-body PET scan done to investigate a suspicious nodule in her right lung.

At a minimum, Trudy is facing surgery and recovery with time out of work. We will not speculate on the rest of the treatment she is facing until more is determined. We do know that before surgery can be performed there is an immediate need for her to have a
crown done on a tooth, at a cost of about $1,500.00.

Trudy’s FAITH is unwavering. She knows that God is with her and has surrounded her with many who love and adore her.  So first we ask for your prayers.

If you feel led to support Trudy and her son through with financial help, please know it will go toward her immediate dental need, and then toward medical and living expenses while she is in treatment. Serving Trudy in this way by helping to make ends meet will also allow her to focus her prayers and energy on the road ahead.

Thank you.

God bless all of you.
