Quick Update: Slade had an MRI a couple of weeks ago. The tumor is still growing after completion of Proton radiation and 42 days of Temodar Dr Fink has changed his treatment plan. He will do infusion chemotherapy every 6 weeks for 1 year. He will also do Avastin infusion every two weeks. He has started Optune which he wears 24/7 for a year! Update!! Slade will start proton radiation and chemo next week. He will do 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. After completion he will do chemo for 5 out of 23 days a month for several months. Slade has a long road ahead of him but he’s remaining positive and ready to fight! Please continue to share this post and most of all continue to pray for complete healing!
EditMost of you have heard by now, Slade had a craniotomy March 10, 2020. The pathology results revealed he has a grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma. He will most likely undergo radiation and chemotherapy again!!!! Slade is recovering well. The next few weeks, months, and years will be full of uncertainties. Many people have asked how they can help with medical expenses. Slade has recurennt brain cancer. He was first diagnosed in 2014. He battled through surgery, weeks of radiation, and 24 months of chemotherapy. He fought hard and won that battle. Unfortunately, 6 years later he is battling once again. His medical expenses are predicted to be huge. He will have another brain surgery to debulk and remove tumor. He most likely will do chemotherapy. We are still getting a full treatment plan together. We are waiting for a consult at MD Anderson. Slade’s plan to open his insurance agency have been put on hold. He is unable to work due to his condition. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
