Skyler is my four year old Frenchie, and she has been my rock through some of the most difficult changes and struggles in my 20’s. She’s a sweet, loving girl with a wonderful personality, always bringing joy no matter what life throws our way. I can’t imagine my life without her by my side.
Out of nowhere, Skyler became very ill—she started vomiting, had diarrhea, and lost all interest in food. She was shaky, lethargic, and couldn’t even keep water down. I rushed her to the vet, where they discovered a blockage in her intestine that wasn’t moving, even after fluids and IVs. The vet recommended emergency exploratory surgery to find the cause. During the operation, I got the call every pet parent dreads: Skyler’s heart had stopped. The team performed CPR and, thankfully, brought her back. They found a large mass in her intestine that had caused part of it to die off. The vet quickly removed the damaged section and stitched the healthy ends together, saving her life.
After surgery, Skyler was transferred to an ER vet for close monitoring due to the intensity of her ordeal. She’s stable now, but she’s facing an abnormal heart rhythm and pancreatitis from all the inflammation. She’ll need ongoing medications and care to recover fully. Any funds received will go directly toward paying for her surgery, ER care, and the medications she needs to heal. Skyler means the world to me, and I’m asking for help from anyone who can support her recovery. Your kindness will make a real difference in her life and mine.
