Help Skyler and Joy get back on their feet

Hi, my name is Olivia and I’m raising money for Joy and Skyler Mart.

Yesterday, they were driving to St. Louis to look at apartments when a semi truck hit the back of their car. This caused them to spin out in 360 degrees, go off the road, down a steep hill and into the woods where they hit some trees. Their car is totaled. The driver of the Semi truck hit and ran and Joy and Skyler only had liability insurance so it doesn’t cover any of the costs since it wasn’t their fault and the driver drove off. There is no information on the hit and run driver and the Missouri state highway patrol believe it will be near impossible to find them.

Joy, Skyler, and their dog were in the car. They suffered extreme whiplash, concussions, bruises, and emotional trauma. They have been staying with friends in Springfield while they look for an apartment close to Joy’s job since she was told two weeks ago that she will have to go back in person (she’s been working remotely). Skyler has been working as a doordash driver. Now, they have no car to use to look for apartments and no car for Skyler to use to provide income through doordash. Most of their belongings were in the car since they were planning on staying at an Airbnb until they could rent an apartment. Some of those items are now broken and can not be replaced. Joy and Skyler also need to go to the doctor because of injuries from the accident -but had to use a large part of their savings to get the car, towed by two trucks, out of the woods.

Because of the hit to their savings, income and only asset (the car), Joy and Skyler are asking for donations so that they can get back on their feet and put a down payment on a new car, go to the doctor, and take their dog to the vet to get him checked out after this traumatic accident. Joy and Skyler are amazing friends and this traumatic accident has caused so much pain and stress. They are so grateful for anything that anyone can offer.
