UPDATE:
I want to sincerely thank all of you for your generous donations. To remind all of you, Skylar and I were attacked by 2 stray dogs April 11, 2025.
I couldn’t have given Skylar the emergency professional care that she needed without your help with your donations.
And wow, it does take a Village! I must admit, it was touch and go for a bit. But, with the care of my daughter, granddaughter and friends, we pulled through.
The update is, her 6 puncture wounds that had miserable chronic infections have healed!
Skylar had to have 3 toes amputated and they are saying her leg may have to be amputated also now but we are getting a second opinion on that before moving forward. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you are able to donate, I am so grateful for your generosity and kindness.
Sincerly,
Debra Kerr
ORIGINAL POST:
Hi, my name is Skylar and my mommy saved my life recently. I am a year and a half old. I weigh just under 6 pounds. April 11, 2025 I was being walked by my Mommy, when we were attacked by two medium/large dogs. It was Awful. Fortunately, my hero, my Mommy, was brave enough to save us. During the rescue the dogs attacked her too, but, she was fearless and she saved me.
The two dogs that attacked us had gotten out of their yard and were wondering unsupervised.
This is unsafe for the public and for the dogs, and not something that should have happened. They still haven’t reached out to apologize or even ask if I was ok … or even my Mommy.
The dogs hurt us. The Orthopedic Surgeon said he might have to amputate my leg. Thankfully I still have all 4 but, it is going to have to take a serious surgery to fix my 2 complete fractures in my right hip. I have been in the ER 4 times trying to heal 6 puncture wounds. I keep getting bad infections. Yesterday they put me under and scrubbed the infection out.
But, it’s not all good news. The Vet bills for saving my life are more than my mommy can afford.
She has her own medical bills to worry about from this tragedy. So, we need help. Any help.
My Mommy Is my hero…she is amazing. She was not going to let me die. Please help her!
Much Appreciation,
Skylar ❤️
