Hello!
My name is Courtney. My daughter's name is Skylar. Skylar has been going through a rough time off and on for around 8 years now. She has been diagnosed with Pediatric Acute Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) and chronic Lyme Disease. These conditions cause Skylar to have chronic pain in her joints and muscles, mainly in her legs. She also gets weakness in her legs that causes her knees to buckle and her legs to drag when she walks. On her better days, she can walk for short distances.
Skylar has used a hospital wheelchair in the past, but it is hard to maneuver and very heavy to push, making it near impossible to use in daily life. It also doesn't fit her measurements, making the push rims hard to reach, which can be damaging to her shoulders. Since Skylar's problem has been going on for so many years and will continue to go on, we need to get her a proper wheelchair that will work with her instead of against her in her daily life.
Please consider helping Skylar get a new wheelchair and get her freedom back!
