On Thursday, November 11th there was a horrific car accident that changed my Niece Skylah's life forever. Skylah is 23 months old and suffered a traumatic brain injury. She was in ICU for a month and now in inpatient rehabilitation for speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and therapeutic recreation. Her ongoing care can still be up to a year. Permanent effects from the injury are still unknown and she has a long way to go for treatment. It has taken a significant toll on her mobility and cognitive skills. She needs support with everything she does. We have faith she will overcome this by how hard she has been working.

 

 

 

Skylah is the family firecracker! She loved dancing, if she heard any music it was party time! She always wanted to be involved in everything; it could be riding a bike with her big sister, playing basketball with her dad, digging in the sand at the beach, and swinging on the swings with her other siblings, never count her out! She was always very independent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Her parents have sat at her bedside and haven't missed a day. They have been worried about her and praying she’ll get better. Her mother had to take an unpaid leave from work and her father is out of work for 6 months due to his injury from the accident, all while trying to help care for the family.

 

I know her parents would never ask for anything

but any help you can give for Skylah and the family would be greatly appreciated. Any donations will be used to help them pay for her medical bills, potential home modifications, further rehabilitation, transportation expenses, and for the family to get through this difficult time.

 

 

Our family has learned there is definitely power in prayer so please keep Skylah in mind when praying.
