Hi everyone,

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend, Skye, who is facing an unimaginable loss and an overwhelming financial burden.

On January 31st, Skye lost her father after months of watching him go back and forth between the hospital and home. She was by his side through the hardest moments, missing work at the very end so she could care for him and be there when he needed her most.

Skye was told that the VA would not assist with any of the end-of-life expenses, including cremation. She had planned to use her father’s final disability check to cover these costs, only to wake up and discover that the funds had been taken back out of her account following his passing. In a matter of moments, the small financial plan she had disappeared.

Skye has very little family support, with only a brother living in Texas, and she is now left trying to grieve while also worrying about how she will afford to lay her father to rest and keep herself afloat after missing weeks of work. No one should have to carry this kind of weight while mourning a parent.

We are asking for help to cover cremation expenses, immediate bills, and basic living costs during this incredibly difficult time. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page so it can reach others.
