Update: Sky went with the Lord earlier. She was the sweetest girl we could've asked for, but she'll be waiting for us in Heaven now. Sky was our first dog together and her place in our hearts will always be cemented. Thank you to anyone who has helped with her care, we deeply appreciate the support.

A couple of weeks ago, our sweet dog Sky suddenly stopped eating her normal food. At first, we thought she was just being picky, so we tried changing up her meals. But soon, we noticed a troubling pattern—she would eat, then throw up, and refuse to touch her food again. This happened twice before we realized something was seriously wrong. Sky began refusing to eat altogether. While she would still drink water, she was getting skinnier and weaker by the day. The vomiting became more frequent, even after drinking water, and we knew we had to get her to the vet as soon as possible.

At the vet, we received heartbreaking news: Sky was in kidney failure. The vet believed it was likely caused by Lyme disease from a tick bite, as some of her symptoms pointed in that direction. We were faced with an impossible choice—euthanasia or hospitalization. After a harrowing half hour of consideration, we decided to give Sky every chance to pull through. With generous help from a friend and the Animal Welfare League, we were able to get her the urgent care she needed. Now, as Sky fights for her life in the hospital, we are left hoping and praying for her recovery.
