Help Sky Overcome Anxiety for Adoption
Donation protected
Hello, my name is MaryAnne Jones and I am a foster mother for the NYC ACC. I currently have a wonderful foster dog. She is sweet in every possible way! Her name is Sky (Cielito) on the @nycacc adoption page; it means little Sky. We call her Sky for short. Her # is 230241 if interested.
She loves people, loves all dogs, loves children, but has severe separation anxiety and will not sleep in her crate. This is difficult to get her adopted if she’s not crate trained. She has escaped a few times and she’s also hurt herself prying the grates open to escape.
She is very intelligent and highly trainable.
We just need the correct crate. I learned about impact crates following other foster mothers that are using them with great success. It makes the dog feel safe and calmer, and they don’t try to escape. She had a wonderful family who wanted to adopt her and changed their mind when they found out that she could escape the crate.
With your help, my goal is to purchase this impact crate and work along with a dear friend of mine who is a trainer to get her to feel safe in the crate and lessen her anxiety! Maybe then we can finally find her a forever family. I have a video of her from her first night with us and her escape on my Instagram if interested. @maryannefjones. Please send what you can.
My goal is to get her adopted and take another dog in from the very overcrowded shelter and try and find them a home as well. Any donation you could make would be so appreciated.
Thank you,
MaryAnne Jones
