Help Skippy the Weenie Walk Again
Donation protected

My name is Diana and I am raising money for my dachshund Skippy's IVDD surgery. Over the course of 1 week, Skippy has declined rapidly. He started out by just acting strange, not wanting to cuddle, not interested in treats. Then I noticed he had pain in his back. He was walking all wobbly and started to drag his right foot. He was also shaking and crying. I took him to the vet on Tuesday where they did X-rays and they said he had some mineralizing in his spine and they suggested I see a specialist. I had made an appointment for next Thursday since that was the soonest they could see me, but by 7 pm on September 20th, he was completely dragging his legs. No mobility in his back legs at all. He hadn't used the restroom since the morning. Since he lost mobility, I called the specialist and asked what to do. They said he needed to be seen immediately. I took him this morning and he was admitted for surgery. He will be hospitalized for 2 nights and hopefully I get to pick him up on Monday.
At first I thought Skippy was grieving my oldest dachshund, Chiki, who recently passed away at 17 from cancer. He was sleeping in her house and snuggling with her blankets. I never thought it was IVDD because he hadn't had any injuries.
Skippy is only 5 years old and he is such a sweet and happy boy. I want him to be able to fully enjoy his life again and use his back legs. Skippy loves racing, swimming, and hiking and begging for treats. He LOVES cuddling and going to wiener dog events. I created The Woof Squad just for him because he enjoys being around other doxies.
Will you please help me fix Skippy's legs? If every single one of our followers donates $1 we can cover Skippy's surgery.
Thank you so much for reading and helping Skippy during this difficult time.
