HELP KEEP SKAGIT SKATE OPEN!!!
For 21 years Burlington, WA has been the home to Skagit Skate. The Englund family broke ground in 1999 and opened their doors to the community in December 1999. Using roller skating to bring the community together, Skagit Skate has provided a safe place for families to have fun, to celebrate countless birthdays, to bring schools together, to celebrate awesome holidays and special events and much more! Many skaters have claimed Skagit Skate as their second home; a home where they can take a break from the world and enjoy their friends and family.
As you may already know, we have been devastated by Covid-19. We shut our doors mid March 2020 and have since been shutdown with the exception of a month return to business in Oct-Nov 2020 at 25% capacity. Our income has come to a complete stop but not our expenses. Unfortunately, Covid-19 does not care about bills.
Being closed for 10 months and counting, the owners Gary and Karen Englund, have been spending their life savings and taking out additional loans to help pay the rinks expenses. Taking on new loans during these uncertain times only adds more debt to when we do finally get to open.
My name is Josh Englund, son of Gary and Karen, and I am asking for your help for my family. Gary and Karen started Skagit Skate to provide a place for the community; a place where they could serve this beautiful county. Now is time to help them out.
All donations will go towards the expenses Skagit Skate continues to incur. With your help, we are hoping to offset the costs and buy some time until we can open again. We thank you for your consideration of donating to help us.
