Help Sj with Double Jaw Surgery Medical Bills

Hello everyone, I am asking my community for help and support with my double jaw surgery happening on March, 21st 2022. The surgery and orthodontics are totaling over $50k.

This has been such an incredibly long and painful journey for me. My insurance denied approval for my surgery despite the medical necessity, because I am over the age of 21 years old.

Because of my underbite I have dealt with digestive issues from not being able to chew efficiently, migraines, jaw pain and popping, my airway is closed by 4mm, bullying, anxiety, depression, and the deterioration of my teeth in some areas because of the unhealthy alignment and where they are hitting on one another. I was also born without 7 of my adult teeth. In may of last year I was told the health of my jaw bones will depend on being able to have this surgery. I have traveled such a long road to self love and acceptance but somethings are purely medical and out of our control. I am now 32 years old and have been struggling with the effects of this since I was 12 years old.

A little bit about me. I am a mestizo, non-binary, single parent and artist. Born and raised in Colorado. Art has been a saving grace in my life and I live for creative, radical self expression and exploration. Through a strong will to heal complex trauma and strengthen my awareness of myself, I have found an insatiable love for life and compassion for myself and others. I am a professional makeup artist and abstract painter in Colorado. I have also shared guided meditation and practiced different energetic healing modalities with my community.

I feel so incredibly vulnerable and humbled to be reaching out for this support and help from my community. I can’t tell you all how much it truly means to me and I absolutely live in such deep gratitude for every single one of you.

I feel so blessed to be able to finally feel that this is a reality for me, as I’ve dreamed of being able to correct my bite since middle school. I look forward to being on the other side and beginning my healing journey.
