About the Project
My name is Shaiquille Smallwood and I am the director and producer of Sixth Seat. Based in San Antonio Texas we have created a series that brings people together in a real and meaningful way. Sixth Seat is a curated dinner with five guests and one host captured as a docuseries that explores food memory and culture. Sixth Seat is storytelling through food and memory not trends or clickbait.
Why We Need Your Support
Episode One is already released and it proved that powerful conversations can happen when people sit down at a table and share food and truth. The biggest challenge we faced was audio. Some voices were hard to hear and moments were lost. That cannot happen again. The conversations in this series matter and every voice deserves to be heard clearly.
We are raising $1,500 dollars to purchase six wireless lavalier microphones and the audio accessories needed for production. Audio is not a small detail. It is the foundation of storytelling. If you cannot hear a story you cannot feel it.
Where the Funds Will Go
Your contribution will go directly toward essential production gear
• Six wireless lav microphones for clear audio for each guest
• Audio cables and accessories for clean and secure connection
• Protective case for professional use and safe transport
This gear will be used in every future episode which means your support creates long term impact.
Why This Matters
Sixth Seat is independently produced. We funded Episode One ourselves because we believe in real storytelling and real conversations. This project is built in San Antonio but it is created for a global audience. The mission is simple. Bring people together through honest conversation food culture and shared experience. There are not many spaces where people slow down and truly listen to one another. Sixth Seat is that space.
