Help Sister Pascalina Feed the Unwanted & Orphans
Here is the story of Sister Pascalina. She runs a home for orphaned and abandoned children in Burundi. she was a victim of theft, losing not only the contents in her home but also every vegetable from their garden was stolen, which they relied upon for their daily food. She works tirelessly for the children but she can’t give what she doesn’t have. She needs our help!
Hello! I am Sister Pascalina! I belong to the religious institution called Company of St. Ursula, a secular institution founded by St. Angela Merici in the 1500. The purpose of this institution is to help and educate the young ones, especially the poor. I live in Burundi province of Gitega, in the archdiocese of Gitega.
I was born to a poor family here, however my parents have passed and my sisters and brother are married. I had to take a loan out to build my small home here.
Here in Burundi, my institution receives children without parents and other children that have been abandoned by their parents. When they bring their children, I plead with them to keep them but they answer that they have no means to support their own precious children.
At this time, I have two young ladies that attend the university, they were supposed to graduate but were short on money for their tuition. I would like to pay for them to be able to graduate but do not know presently how to find money to help, since l have to pay my loan back in the amount of 7000.00 Francs. One of them is Mariarosa, she is a double amputee, and the second one is Suavis.
Besides these two young ladies I have to take of other poor children. I would have a lot more to write about my difficulties here in Burundi. One difficulty that I myself encounter is not having food to eat for myself each day; for instance I did not have any food yesterday and today I had a small amount of beans to eat.
I am posting some pictures of myself, Mariarosa, Suavis and some of the children I love and take care of these days. The girl in white is an orphan of father, and her mother cannot provide for her. Her name is Maria Bakhita. The other girl in the blue is Maria Angela, orphan of both parents.
I also have other children with parents that are unable to contribute and I want to help them when I receive some much needed charity. I, as well as the children are very appreciative of anything that you may be able to contribute. And thank you so much for your time and may God bless you.
