Hope Still Lives — Help This Family Stay Safe

This fundraiser is created solely to support civilian humanitarian needs for my family during displacement. It is not connected to any political or military activities.

Hi compassionate souls,

My name is Mahmoud, a German-Palestinian living and working in Frankfurt for more than 10 years. I am organizing this fundraiser to support my sister — an architect currently in Gaza — along with her husband Ali, their children Firas, Joud, and Selena, and close relatives who are displaced together in Rafah, Gaza.

Our family is living in temporary tents with limited access to clean water, food, and basic necessities. While I live in safety in Germany, they face daily uncertainty and extremely difficult living conditions.

My sister is an architectural instructor who dreams of reopening her work, continuing her PhD, and helping rebuild homes one day. Her husband Ali is a civil engineer, and their children still hold onto their dreams — Firas hopes to become a doctor, Joud wants to grow into a businessman, and little Selena dreams of becoming an architect like her mother. She talks about drawing, design, 3D building programs, and creating models, even through the small bead accessories she designs as a child.

Why They Chose Hope — A Decision to Rebuild

At one point, my sister considered leaving Gaza permanently to search for safety. But she asked a difficult question:

If the people who can rebuild — architects, engineers, and educators — all leave, who will remain to rebuild?

As a family, they chose to hold onto hope — to survive today and rebuild tomorrow. Her father hopes to restore the contracting business and factory he built from nothing through years of dedication and hard work.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All donations will be used strictly for humanitarian and civilian purposes, including:

• Food, clean water, and essential daily living expenses

• Temporary shelter and basic family needs during displacement

• Medical support and stability for the children and family members

• Supporting the family’s safety and well-being during this difficult period

No funds will be used for any political, military, or conflict-related activities.

I never imagined asking the world for help like this, but I cannot stand by while my family struggles to meet basic needs. Every donation or share helps keep hope alive for a family that still believes in life.
