Help Sistah Didi recover from car crash!
Our Dear friend Carolyn Andrews, also known by some as Sistah Didi, was involved in a multi-vehicle car crash in California last week. Her vehicle was struck from behind slamming her into the car in front of her, then subsequent vehicles slammed into the pile up causing her vehicle to eventually wind up 30 feet down an embankment in a dry swamp area filled with reeds. There was a fatality involved in the accident as well as other serious injuries. It was in a wildlife refuge with a single difficult to access road and involved helicopters repelling EMTs flying to the rescue. Didi was eventually backboarded out by the Fire Dept. and transported via ambulance to the hospital.
Luckily her injuries were not life threatening. She has broken ribs and is beaten up a bit. She is recovering. I launched this campaign because Sistah Didi is someone who spent her most productive years of adulthood as a yogic nun, doing service work, mainly in Africa. She is a person dedicated to the service of humanity and due to her tireless support of others, she has very little financial reserves for herself. Her modest car was totaled and she only had liability insurance. To compound matters she owes the towing company $2,000 for towing it out of the ditch. So she will need a new vehicle and her medical insurance has a $3,000 deductible. Fire Dept/ambulance/ER hospital stays are not cheap! So we know that will be at least $3,000 out of pocket. We are helping figure out how to sort out the insurance company challenges and obstacles and hopefully she will get some of this covered. In the meantime, she really needs to take time and heal physically and emotionally from the trauma. She does not have any paid vacation time she can take and can't afford to not work. Meanwhile, she also needs to find another car.
Hopefully this campaign will help support her enough to get through this difficult time and get her back on her feet and back sharing her light with the community. Please generously donate what you can to someone who has given so much to others!
