Help Sis fight Jaundice, from unknown liver damage

Donation protected

This is Sis, the beautiful 3 and a half year old Maine coon kitty. She loves to go outside for walks, play, cuddle and she loves all treats she can get her little toe beans on. Sis is currently sick, with issues showing up in her liver.

The cause is unknown at this time. We are desperately trying to get all tests done, ultrasound, and multiple hospitalizations. We have currently paid over $9,500.00 in vet bills
(March 19/20th a 12 hours emergency IV fluids and tests.
March 22-24 a 36 hours emergency hospitalization IV fluids, tests and medication.
March 24 specialist ultrasound.
March 25 full day hospitalization with IV fluids and medication.
March 26 half day IV fluids.
March 27 full day hospitalization, IV fluids) The future is unknown as of yet so we are anticipating more vet visits.

update August 5 &8 hospitalization iv
August 7 emergency visit specialist consult. (Total $12,777)

Update* **************November 13. Sis most recent bloodwork has show an increase in her liver values which is not a good sign. They had decreased from September to October but has since gone up since October (results in photos).

We are in a tough position to decide what to do next. Unfortunately costs of treatment and tests play a big role as we have extended all financial resources.

Currently we are going to continue to give the same antibiotics to see if another month will help and if no changes we will try steroids. Because of Sis grade (4/6) heart murmur this is risky. The added fluid may put her into congestive heart failure. *************

We are waiting on a referral appointment for an internal medicine specialist to receive a consult. And we have been recommended to do a liver biopsy. Although the costs of this is becoming unaffordable for us to continue with further tests.

*Update* March 28
The ultrasound results show sludge in the exit valve in Sis gallbladder. We are giving her the correct medication/food to eliminate the sludge, along with supplements to help heal her liver. We are not in the clear just yet. We are closely monitoring Sis, her fluid and food intake is the most vital along with her strict schedule of medication.

Monday March 31 we have a blood tests appointment to see if her liver and gallbladder levels have decreased. Sis has been acting more like her self in the last 24 hours and is eating a lot of food. We are hopeful for a full recovery.

Jaundice is a very hard battle and can go down hill very quickly if the right steps are not taken. We are hoping to get any help for the vet bills we are encountering at this moment and in the future to make sure Sis gets healthy and happy again.

Sis hasn't turned 4 yet and we desperately want to spend many more years with her. Any help is greatly appreciated. If you have met Sis you know how sparky she is, how brave and friendly she is and just how loving and smart of a kitty she is. We love her with all our heart and will get her the best care she needs. Thank you for your help in getting Sis healthy.
