I recently helped rescue a dog called Sirius who had spent over 10 YEARS chained up outside in all weathers. Please can you help me ensure he gets all the care he needs?

I have to be honest - I wasn’t sure he was alive when I saw him. He was in an absolutely terrible state. It was as if he had given up. On the drive back to the rescue, I stopped every half hour – just to make sure he was still alive.

On the first of these stops, I carried him out onto the grass. He couldn’t get over the wonderful feeling of soft, cool grass under his paws. He had never felt grass before – all he had known was cold, hard concrete.

He suddenly perked up. It was at this moment that I knew he would make it. He wanted to live.

I took him to the vet the following day. Sirius has terrible arthritis from his long years of being exposed to the elements. And he has cataracts in both eyes. He is on medication now for the arthritic pain.

I'm fundraising to help UNCHAINED - a charity I founded - to ensure Sirius gets the best possible treatment and is able to live out the rest of his life in comfort.

Please help me help Sirius.
