Siphone Chanthasack is a hardworking local farmer whose life was turned upside down by the recent Kona low storms. When the storm hit, Siphone was asleep and didn’t have time to make any preparations. The powerful winds and heavy rain flooded his tractor, which is now stuck in the mud, and caused significant water damage to his car. His RV, which he relies on for shelter, managed to survive but is now just a skeleton of a structure, barely providing any protection from the elements.
The storm didn’t just damage Siphone’s equipment and home—it also devastated his farmlands, leaving him with no way to make a living. The loss has been overwhelming, and he’s facing the difficult task of rebuilding from scratch. Siphone needs help with basic living needs, restoring his farmlands, and replacing essential farming equipment so he can start over.
Your support will help Siphone clean out his living quarters, reinforce his home and farmlands, and begin the long process of recovery. He is deeply grateful for any help, but there is still much more to be done to come back from these storms. Anything you can give will make a difference and is very appreciated. The wait time for help is overwhelming and the wait for crops to grow back is very scary.
This GoFundMe was created by the volunteers from Help Maui Rise and will directly benefit Siphone Chanthasack and his bank information was added for him to withdraw directly.
