SiouxperCon isn’t just a convention - it’s one of the most impactful community events in South Dakota. Every year, more than 10,000 attendees come together to celebrate creativity, fandom, STEM education, literacy, and the arts. In just one weekend, SiouxperCon generates an estimated $1.75 million in economic impact for Sioux Falls EVERY YEAR. No other nonprofit or even pop culture event in our area matches this level of community return.

What makes this even more remarkable is that SiouxperCon is 100% volunteer run. We have no paid staff. Every dollar from vendor booths, sponsorships, and ticket sales goes directly into programming, guests, and community impact.

As the event has grown, so have the costs required to run it. It now takes over $200,000 each year to bring SiouxperCon to life - covering venue rental, insurance, guest travel, accessibility services, and the programs that make this event so special.

We’ve cut expenses everywhere we can, but like many nonprofits, we’re feeling the strain of rising travel, venue, and insurance costs, along with continued cuts to grant funding. To keep SiouxperCon affordable, inclusive, and sustainable, we’re asking our community to rally with us.

Your support helps us:

• Bring in high caliber guests and creators for our fans

• Invest in the spaces you love - including our cosplay competition, tabletop gaming and video game rooms

• Maintain stellar all-ages educational programming all weekend-long in our Kid Zone area

• Provide a free children’s book to every child who attends on Family Day

• Support local nonprofits who partner with SiouxperCon including Make-A-Wish, Reach Literacy, and the JY6 Foundation

• Keep ticket prices accessible for families, and allow us to keep entry for ages 12 and under FREE

SiouxperCon exists because this community believes in it. What started as an idea executed in a hotel basement is now the largest, fully nonprofit, event of its kind across the region. With your help, we can continue offering a safe, joyful, and inspiring event for fans of all ages - not just this year, but for years to come. If every fan donated just $5 today, we would be able to raise $50,000! That would SMASH our goal of $25,000 needed to keep programming for the event affordable.
