T’was somewhere between multiple missed calls from my favorite Vinyasa and Pilates instructor when I thought, “Why won’t these nerdlings stfu so I can diagnose the latest car issue?”

I was stuck within a grueling software release meeting but knew there was trouble…as the official mechanic of Siobhan’s rotting 4Runner, I crossed fingers and hoped for the best.

Returning a rare FaceTime call, I was quickly thrown onto a ride on Great America’s classic wooden beast, The American Eagle. Except it wasn’t the lovely backdrop of Gurnee, Illinois but of 3 children holding their skulls and a declaration of, “I think something’s wrong.”

Siobhan’s aging 4Runner has dead cylinders and a Swiss cheese frame which I could no longer allow her to drive. Engine repairs that would far outpace the free labor and rust that has pierced the frame and welds. It’s complete toast.

I have triaged the situation out of my own pocket at this point…providing a rental vehicle and donating 5k myself.

I am reaching out to the community to assist me with acquiring the proper funds in order to provide a safe and solid vehicle for her and her children…

so that she may continue to provide us with top-notch instruction and care.
