Join Sio Angianga's Battle Against Rare Cancer (stage 4)

I'm starting this GoFundMe for my dear friend's Gary and Jennifer Angianga's son Sio. Sio was just diagnosed on July 12th, 2024 with stage 4 cancer - Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS).

Sio is 16 years old and the oldest of his 6 siblings. His full name is Aloisio Tai Gary Angiana. Sio is a kind and loving boy. He loves his siblings and is a big teddy bear. He loves his parents very much and is always worried about everyone else. His mother said that Sio keeps the family together. He is also an incredible football player. He is a lineman and he plays for Northrop High School.

ASPS is an extremely rare cancer. It usually starts in the leg, although it can also begin in other parts of the body, including the arms, head, or neck. It can be difficult to find in the early stages because it starts as a painless lump. By the time it is discovered, ASPS often has spread to other places in the body, in particular, the lungs.

For Sio this was the case. He has 2 tumors in his lungs (right lung tumor is 7cm, left lung tumor is 2.5cm) and the initial tumor in his leg is 12cm.

Sio began oral chemo treatment Aug. 6, 2024. This will require traveling back and forth to Riley hospital in Indy (2 hour drive) about 4 times a month. If this treatment doesn't work he will switch to IV treatments.

Your support will help cover Sio's medical expenses, including treatments and medications for their recovery. Your support will also help to cover the expenses that will be in-cured through travel to and from Indy, loss of income from his parents missing work to get him to and from treatment, and other needs that might arise.
