Discoid lupus primarily affects the skin and, in my case, has severely targeted my scalp. I live with persistent and painful symptoms: Intense Inflammation: My scalp is often inflamed, leading to chronic itching, burning, and throbbing pain. Progressive Hair Loss: The inflammation creates scarring lesions that destroy the hair follicles, resulting in permanent bald spots. What started as small spots has progressively grown larger over time, which has been incredibly difficult to cope with both physically and emotionally.

I have been on a difficult journey, trying various treatments and alternatives to better manage the disease and control the painful outbreaks. Unfortunately, the standard treatments have not been enough to halt the progression of the scarring and hair loss. Managing a chronic condition like discoid lupus requires specialized, continuous, and often very expensive medical care.

Funds will help cover the costs of prescription creams, light therapy, and other necessary tools to manage the daily pain, burning, and inflammation, allowing me to live with more comfort and dignity.
