Help Sinnamon Love Attend Colgate Writer's Conference

Hi, I’m Sinnamon Love—a writer, cultural worker, and independent scholar committed to telling the stories mainstream institutions ignore. I’ve been accepted into the prestigious Colgate Writer’s Conference this summer in the nonfiction cohort, and I need your help to get there.
This is more than just a workshop—it’s an opportunity to hone my craft, carve out dedicated writing time, connect with other bold truth-tellers and literary agents, and move forward on my first book, which centers consensual non-monogamy and authenticity as liberatory praxis in the Black bedroom.
As a disabled, queer single caregiver and full-time activist, I rarely get to step away and focus solely on craft. Much of my work is unfunded or self-supported, and between the high cost of caregiving, medical bills, and daily survival, attending this conference is financially out of reach without your support.
I’m raising $7,500 to cover:
• Tuition and registration fees: $1,200
• Travel to and from Colgate (Hamilton, NY): $500
• Meals during the conference: $500
• Childcare support while I’m away: $1,000
• Rent and therapy expenses during the conference: $2,500
• Emergency fund for unforeseen expenses: $1,800
Urgent Need: I need to cover $1,200 immediately for tuition registration to accept my place.
Your support will allow me to show up fully, represent our community, and write the stories that deserve to be told with care and power. Whether it’s $10 or $100, every bit helps me get closer to the page and the people who need these words.
Thank you for believing in this work—and in me.
With love and gratitude,
Sinnamon Love
