Help Single Mum Christina Get Through the Holidays

Hi my name is Hayley and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Christina. Christina is a single mum with a 4 year old boy, Elliott. Elliott is my son Sam’s half-brother. Christina and Elliott live in the USA, and unlike Australia where we have a somewhat decent social support system for single parents and those who are struggling, those in the USA do not. Christina has fallen on hard times at the moment and is struggling to put a roof over her head and pay her basic costs of living as she is between jobs and navigating finding her own space to live after her parents relocated interstate. She has had to borrow (and repay) a friend recently for petrol (gas) to give you an idea of where she is currently at, and is also about to come up against a dental bill of approx $1000USD for a tooth with nerve damage. A local friend of hers who is in a church group is helping out to gather some Christmas presents for Elliott. She is a professional nanny, currently between jobs and never gets time to herself at all. She’s an extremely hard worker and a good person, and this is her time of need. She is very self conscious about asking for help but at my request she has allowed me to set this up for her. I hate to think of anyone struggling through Christmas, let alone these two. I know many people are doing it tough themselves right now, however if you have anything to spare that could help Christina and Elliott, it would be greatly appreciated. The money would be put towards her rent, food, bills and if we can raise enough I would like to help her build enough of a buffer to have a month or two rent in advance so she doesn’t have to stress while she’s trying to get her next permanent job.
