Help Single Mom Fight Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver Cancer

Donation protected
My mother, Glennda, has Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver Cancer. We have been told this is one of the worst cancers to fight. Up until two months ago she was working 60-70 hours per week in shipping and receiving as a parts runner. She was lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis at 5’3”. She now has a hard time walking, eating and is weak and in constant pain. She recently received her first bill of $14,932 for her initial CT scan. The doctors said they were going to send her results to Mayo two months ago, and instead sent them to UW by mistake. They were also supposed to have her port for her chemo treatment a month ago and she finally received it yesterday, Friday 12/6/2024. Her first chemo treatment will not be until next Friday, 12/13/2024. Her landlord is raising her rent this month, and she is worried she will not be able to afford her medical payments and keep living where she is.

I have left a message from her below:

Hello everyone. This is difficult for me, as I am used to doing things on my own and taking care of myself. However, I am in a situation where I need to reach out for help. Around May of 2024, I began having issues at least once per month. I was told I have an “elevated liver” but no further studies or tests were done even though I pressed the issue as it felt quite severe. Blood work was done, but that was all. On September 15, 2024, I messaged my primary care doctor Connie Harris through MyChart as this had been ongoing for many months with no help from my primary care physician. My message to her stated, “September 15 my body aches, temp, nausea, H/A, and extreme weakness began. I was too miserable to come in for lab. Today is lingering, but not as severe. I’m worried I should have come in when it was more intense. Something is dreadfully wrong.” Her response was, “Labs are all stable, viruses can take a couple of weeks to resolve. Rest and take care of yourself, and be kind to yourself.” This was not a virus!! I was missing several days per month of work, my primary care doctor was not helping me, and I was in so much pain and feeling so weak that I finally decided to go to Urgent Care instead. The doctor there scheduled me for a CT scan. The CT scan revealed that I have liver cancer. I was set up with an oncologist, and he told me it appears that the cancer appears to be originating from somewhere else in my body, which they are now assuming is my pancreas. He told me my labs would be sent to Mayo Clinic for further study, and that he wanted to schedule a colonoscopy even though I had one a little under two years ago that came back negative. The results from this colonoscopy were also negative. A port was ordered at the same time, as well as a full body scan. During my last visit, an emergency visit set up by my oncologist, he was upset and informed me my labs were sent to the University of Washington instead of Mayo Clinic, and I received no information from them. They also failed to order my port, and so my chemo treatment has not even begun and isn’t scheduled until next Friday on the 13th of December. The full body scan has not been done, either. I am feeling so weak that I can barely move, eat, or take care of myself. If you could please help me with anything, I would be truly grateful.

God bless all of you, and if you could, please keep my family and I in your prayers!
