Help a Navy Veteran Provide Stability for His Family

Donation protected

Update 06 April 2026- things have not gotten any better. I haven’t been able to find a job through relentless job searching for the last 2 1/2 years. I’ve officially depleted my savings and the friends and family resources. I’ve added a Venmo link at the bottom of the post with the devotional information . So I’m asking my other friends and family that see this and to help. If you helped last year, thank you. I’m not asking you for more! I’m eternally grateful ☺️ Things are bad. Love you all.

My name is Zach, I’m a proud, honorably discharged Navy veteran and a devoted single father of twin 10-year-old boys.

I’m writing today not because I want to, but because I have to. I’m facing one of the most difficult chapters of my life, and I need your help to keep my children safe, housed, and stable.

Since August 2024, I’ve been actively job hunting, but unemployment continues to weigh heavily on us. I’ve applied to 900+ jobs, from cybersecurity to McDonalds. I’ve gotten 11 emails stating they are moving on with someone and 5 actual interviews. The rest ghosted me.

We’re falling behind fast, and I’m raising funds to cover immediate, essential needs:
• Groceries for the boys and I.
• Internet and phone.
• Mortgage and HOA fees. I’m 2 months behind on my mortgage and $1385 behind on HOA fees. The HOA is threatening to take me to small claims court.
• Child Support and truck insurance. Child Support is behind $1800 and they’re suspending my drivers license in 27 days.

My goal is to raise $15,000+ to stabilize my situation while I continue pushing forward. I’ve included documentation of overdue bills and delinquencies to be as transparent as possible.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about money, it’s about dignity, security, and giving two young boys a chance to feel safe while their dad works like hell to get back on his feet.

I know there are a million fundraisers out there. And yeah, some of them go viral for all the wrong reasons.

How You Can Help
• Donate - even $5 helps more than you know.
• Share - send this to someone who might be in a position to help.
• Encourage - your comments, support, and belief in this fight mean everything.

Thank you for reading this, and for being the kind of person who still believes in helping when it counts. You’re keeping more than lights on, you’re keeping hope alive for me and my boys.
If you’d rather Venmo me @zach-hightower-3 to avoid gofundme’s fees please do.
The new image of the boys in ski gear is only because my brother-from-another-mother hooked them up with a ski lessons while we visited them in Vail. So there’s that!
