Help Sinem and Dustin Rebuild After Trauma
Donation protected
Hello, I am trying to raise funds to help support a truly beautiful newlywed couple that has just experienced a nightmare. Sinem and Dustin Myers had their dream wedding on November 1st. Shortly after, they jetted off to St. Lucia for what they thought would be a magical start to a fairytale life together. To add to their life blessings, Sinem found out she was pregnant days before they left for the honeymoon. Unfortunately, the unimaginable soon began. Here is a post from Sinem explaining their experience.
Hi friends,
We have decided to share this to update you about our honeymoon—not for attention, but to save us from repeating a difficult story and to ask for your understanding.
What should have been a beautiful start to our married life turned into one of the most traumatic experiences we’ve ever faced. Less than 24 hours into our trip to St. Lucia, I experienced severe abdominal pain and was rushed to the hospital, where I underwent emergency surgery. The doctors discovered a ruptured ovarian cyst that caused massive internal bleeding, requiring two blood transfusions. I spent 48 hours in the hospital, in conditions that were overwhelming and far from what we’re used to.
Although we tried to make the most of the remainder of our honeymoon, I was in too much pain to do much. When additional symptoms developed, I reached out to the wonderful Jane Brown for advice. She urged us to return home immediately, fearing I might end up in the hospital again. We caught the next flight back and went straight to Memorial ER, where we received exceptional care and kindness—a stark contrast to what we’d experienced. It truly made me appreciate the quality of healthcare we’re so fortunate to have access to.
The good news is that I am still pregnant—a miracle given everything my body has endured. However, there’s still a great deal of uncertainty about the outcome, and we need time to heal emotionally and physically.
Please understand that we’re not ready to discuss this in detail or answer questions just yet. We deeply appreciate your love and support and ask for space as we navigate this challenging time. We’ll share more when we feel ready.
Thank you for respecting our wishes.
A detail of this nightmare Sinem did not share is the financial toll this took on the couple. Before they could leave the hospital, they needed to pay the medical bill in full draining their entire life savings. Every dime they had worked hard to save for their new life together with a new baby was spent on trying to survive this honeymoon from hell. Although their story has a happy ending and everyone is healthy. They must start over. Sinem still needs to heal and with a baby on the way they are overwhelmed with anxiety of their financial future. Sinem and Dustin would NEVER ask for help, but this couple deserves support. I would like to try to raise money for them to help ease the burden so they can focus on starting life together and preparing for a child. They are so deserving.
Thank you all for whatever support you can give.
Update as of 11/25/24
Hi again, friends,
We wanted to share an update and let you know that I am experiencing a miscarriage. The reason for sharing this is to kindly ask you to continue respecting the space we’ve requested. While we deeply appreciate your love and support, what we need most right now is time and quiet to process and heal.
Out of care for our emotional well-being, we’ve turned off comments on this post and kindly ask that you refrain from reaching out with messages or phone calls for now. We’re so grateful for your understanding and support as we take this time for ourselves.
Thank you for your compassion during this difficult time.
