Help “SIMPLIFY” our friend Monique’s medical journey!

Hello friends, family, acquaintances & community of Monique Duncan,

As all of us know, Monique is one of a kind. She has been a mentor, savior, friend, or advocate to each and every one of us. She constantly gives of herself to make sure she leaves the world a better place than she found it. From her “Simplify” campaign to her strong presence in addiction recovery community, we can always count on Monique to be there. She is the light to many of us in our time of darkness. She has a way of finding us when no one else can. And she is there with the flashlight to get us out of the dark.

Above anything else, Monique loves being a grandmother. Her grandchildren are the pinnacle of her existence. Monique holds high importance on teaching her grandchildren life lessons through physical activity and interaction with nature. They are her world.

As many of you know, Monique has been struggling medically with her hip. Even amidst her own pain and discomfort she still finds a way to help others through theirs. Monique has been through multiple hip replacement surgeries. One where the surgery was botched and left one leg longer than the other. She now has the opportunity to get her hip fixed permanently so she can be back to normal and without pain. With the surgery, physical therapy and treatments will also be needed. All very expensive and will not happen if the money is not there.

Now is the time for us to come together and help Monique in her time of need. In order for her to continue doing what she loves (helping others) she needs financial help to get the medical treatment needed for her hip surgery and therapy. Among this, her car is also needing repair.

The goal is set high But anything helps! Monique is a special human being and it is our turn to help her! She would never ask for help like this on her own. So I am asking for her.

UPDATE:

Monique had her pre-op on Thursday. She had her blood drawn, an Ekg, and blood pressure. She had to wait on results before she would get the go-ahead. GREAT and NEEDED news she's CLEARED✨️✨️ She has crawled for 5 years with her left leg being damaged with nerves ( due to a wire that was inserted which ended up blowing out (freyed)a wire that was grinding which caused severe damage to have this day to come. She's cleared for her right hip replacement, but her left leg still has some nerve pain.

We need to raise $700 for her last set of her left leg to quit firing her nerves. She has had many injections on her left leg, and it's worked, however she needs more injections only in her groin area, and her sciatica where before she would have these random nerve pains that would drop her on the ground. Dr. Sara Walton has been pivotal in getting these painful nerves to shut down. The best part is that it's not a band-aid. She will also be getting pre-op injections in her right leg and post-op. Dr. Sara Jo Walton is Pro active verses reactive, which is the way Monique believes. They work together to achieve what needs to happen.
