Hi, I'm setting up this fundraiser for my daughter Simone O'Kelly who placed 3rd overall last year in the UEC Mountain Bike European Series. This qualifies her to race the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Series 2026. This is a series of 7 races that takes place around the world with 5 of these races taking place in Europe between May and September 2026.

At 17 year of age, this is a fantastic achievement and has required a lot of hard work and dedication to get here. She has raced with the top riders in her category in the world in the last 12 months.

Simone started mountain biking at 13 years of age and is sponsored by the GAP, Glencullen Adventure Park, who have been incredibly generous in supporting her to help her get to where she is.

Over the next four months she will race the European Downhill Series and the World Cup Series in locations including Loudenvielle (France), Saalfelden-Leogang (Austria), Lenzerheide (Switzerland), Val di Fassa (Italy), La Thuile (Italy), Pal Arinsal (Andorra) and Haute-Savoie (France).

Each race costs at least 1200 euro to participate in. This includes airfares to and from the race (approximately 400 euro), accommodation (400 euro), race entry (100 euro), servicing bike and get it race ready (300 euro), food, kit, etc.

She has worked very hard for the last 4 years to get to where she is and she's hoping for good results this year. As well as working with a top fitness coach, she will also work with a nutritionalist and coach ahead of the race season.
