Hello All, my name is Simone Jacques. I am an 18 year old from San Francisco, Ca who was accepted as a first year student to Spelman University in the Atlanta, GA. I applied as a Comparative Women’s Studies major, and it is my dream to attend a Historically Black College. I am very excited to attend such a prestigious Woman’s university where the diaspora of Black history is profound. I truly think the connections and education I will receive will prepare me the most in my pursuit to uplift my many communities. Despite FAFSA and scholarships, my tuition still amounts to $50,000 which my single mom and I cannot afford. I have been an activist and artist in my community throughout my education, organizing protests and using my voice for liberation. My goal is to become an educator for other Black and Brown children and to continue as a community activist.
I am eternally grateful for any donations as it would put me one step closer to affording college.
Below I have linked an article with my involvement in Black Lives Matter. #BlackWomen'sVoicesMatter #BlackEducationMatters
