I'm Gav, and a I am fundraising for my best bud Simon (or Jimon, as some of you may know him).

Due to an undiagnosed, ongoing, lifelong condition, Jimon lost his first leg just below the knee just after his 40th birthday. He then had a stoke in 2018, caused by endocarditis (bacteria on the heart).

He lost his second leg a few months ago on August 20th of this year (2025), then had another stroke a few weeks ago on Saturday 11th October.

Si has been unable to work this year, and will be for the foreseesable future.

So some of his friends would like to raise some money to give him a bit of breathing space to cover household bills and some modifications for his flat. I wanted to set the target much higher than it is, but Si never likes to ask for help and asked me to keep the target very low.

I personally think the target should be high enough for us to buy him an accessible shower, as his bath is not fit for purpose.

Anyone who has even met Simon knows what a lovely, warmhearted and eternally positive guy he is.

Throughout his entire medical ordeal, he's never once complained, asked for help or lost his sense of humour. H is one of a kind, and one of the finest people I know.

It would be much appreciated if you chuck a few quid to support him and make his life a bit easier during his rehab, while he learns to walk again.
