Simi Dalyop is a dear childhood friend from when my family lived in Jos, Nigeria during the 1990s. Simi is a kind, brilliant, capable wife, mother, and businesswoman.

Simi lives in Jos, Nigeria with her husband and three children - Bethel (16), Jeremy (8) and Janelle (4). Simi's oldest son Bethel has juvenile arthritis and special health needs.

Simi studied mass communications and worked previously in the field of PR. In 2021 she did market research and created a strong business plan to start her own small, family poultry farm. In 2021 she started with 10 chickens and, within the first year, was able to grow it to a flock of over 200 birds!

But 2022 brought a series of setbacks. Between the challenging Nigerian economy with soaring inflation, a car accident, and her son's ongoing health needs, she had to make the heartbreaking decision to sell her flock and close her business.
