Hi! I'm Gina. I run a small non-profit and direct an amazing choir in the Hudson Valley. One of my choir members is struggling and I am hoping to help raise funds to help them.
Simeon-Quinn has TMD (Temporomandibular Disorder). It involves issues with the joint/muscles that control jaw movement, resulting in a lot of pain, trouble eating, and headaches. They need a jaw stabilization procedure and a dental appliance to realign/heal their jaw, and thus relieve the pain. The cost of the procedure and the dental appliance is around $11,000. (The full cost may be more, depending on how smoothly the process goes.)
Simeon also has GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), and this jaw issue, when it gets bad, greatly increases their anxiety levels. This is affecting their ability to focus, self-regulate their nervous system, and be organized amid a full-time college schedule. In addition to that, the jaw tension and pain have been getting more intense as time goes on without a supportive dental appliance. Both Simeon-Quinn and their sibling Zyne are full-time students at DCC, and their mom is self-employed. Their older brother has autism and needs 24/7 care, which also needs to come out of their family’s finances.
Simeon is such a fantastic young adult and I hate to see them (and their family) in such a difficult situation, both financially and physically. I am reaching out to my community and beyond to see if we can help this young person and their family through this challenging time. It takes a village and we hope you will be part of it!
Thank you so much for your consideration!
