We're reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for help saving the life of Simba, a sweet, playful, and deeply loved 3-year-old cat who means the world to his mom.

Shortly after celebrating his third birthday, Simba fell critically ill after possibly eating something he shouldn't have. He was rushed to the emergency vet, where he received IV fluids, anti-nausea medication, and around-the-clock monitoring. Despite the efforts of the amazing veterinary team, Simba’s condition worsened, and he spiked a dangerously high fever. It became clear that emergency surgery was the only option to save his life.

Simba is now in surgery and will be fighting to recover, and we’re doing everything we can to give him the best chance. The cost of his emergency care and surgery is still being calculated, but we’ve been given an estimate, and it’s more than Simba’s mom can manage alone.

Here’s the thing: Simba’s mom is the kind of person who never asks for help. She’s the first to step up for others—people, pets, and strays alike. Whether it’s fostering animals, helping someone in crisis, or volunteering her time and heart, she gives without hesitation. Now, she needs support.
