We are raising funds to support Simba (David Malual Kuol), a senior at Capital High School in Boise, Idaho, who recently suffered a serious leg injury during a game on Friday night and has already undergone surgery as part of his treatment.
Simba does not have health insurance, and the costs related to emergency care, surgery, hospitalization, and recovery are significant and ongoing.
Simba’s story is one of resilience and determination. Originally from South Sudan, he came to the United States and began playing organized basketball for the first time. Through hard work and perseverance, he developed into a committed student-athlete and leader, earning respect both on and off the court. His journey has previously been recognized in the basketball community as an example of growth, grit, and opportunity.
This injury comes during Simba’s senior year of high school, a time that should be filled with milestones and future planning. Instead, he is now focused on healing, rehabilitation, and navigating the financial burden of unexpected medical expenses.
Simba currently lives with Orlando Clay and Lacy Quintero, who are caring for him and assisting with his medical care and recovery. Funds raised through this campaign will be directed toward Simba’s medical and recovery-related expenses.
