HELP SIMBA EMACIATED DISABLED DOG
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Angela.
Simba was living in absolute squalor locked in a house alone with someone going to feed him every 3 days. We were made aware of Simba by the young lady who was asking for help through a rehoming group. When we saw that no rescue was offering to help this boy, we asked to be put into contact with the poster who gave us the address. To our shock and horror when we arrived there the poor boy was in a filthy state, not only because he was disabled but also very emaciated showing all his bones poking through his skin. He had dried faeces stuck to his matted fur and stunk to high heavens and also had severe diarrohea.
We have taken Simba back to Manchester with us and fortunately found a kind hearted foster home where he can be cared for and get him the treatment he needs.
To help Simba we need to raise funds. We took Simba to the vets this morning but because he has no muscle tone whatsover in his lower back, legs etc. the vet could not assess him properly. At present we are not sure if this is a deformity from birth or accident. The other leg has so much muscle wastage through no exercise and lack of food that it's too complicated to investigate further as yet.
Simba will now be taken care of by his foster family and help him to put weight on, he needs to go to hydrotherapy sessions at least twice a week to help to build his muscle tone because he obviously cant walk or run like other dogs to gain strength in his muscles. He has already had a good shower to remove all the faeces and looks so much better for it.
Simba's foster family need to put artificial grass outside the back door for Simba so he doesnt scrape his foot on the ground and we also need to pay for that. There are probably lots of other things Simba will need but we are taking one step at a time.
The vet wants Simba to return in a month's time once he has been built up a little to investigate further.
Please help us by donating to this cause for Simba so we can get him the best care possible. Without your help we have no idea how we will get him the care he needs.
