Hi there… My name’s Simba.
I know what you’re thinking . “Wait, a talking dog?!” But I’m not just any dog. I’m a 9-year-old Shiba Inu and Labrador mix. That means I’m the perfect mix of adorable, goofy, and loyal. I know I’m a dog… but I’ve got a big story to tell and even bigger love to give.
I live with my amazing family, including my silly brothers Finn and Malcolm, and my sister Lyra, who I lovingly pester every chance I get. I’m the goofy guy in the house who loves all food (seriously, if it fits in a bowl, I’m interested). But the real MVP of my heart? Grandma. I’m what they call a “velcro dog”. I don’t like to be away from her for more than a few seconds. Wherever she is, that’s where I want to be. Always. Honestly, if I could zip myself into her hoodie, I would.
Now… I need to tell you something a little serious.
About a year and a half ago, a bump started growing on my leg. Everyone thought it was just a fatty lump. I mean, I do *love* snacks. But when the bump kept growing, my person got worried and took me to the vet. That’s when we got the scary news: it wasn’t just fat. It was cancer.
We did the surgery... and that was really tough. It cost $5,000, but my person made it happen because they love me. The vets say I have a really good shot at beating this thing for good, but only if I get chemotherapy soon. The problem is, the chemo costs another $6,000.
I know times are hard. I know that’s a lot of money. But every day we wait is a day the cancer could come back stronger. I’m not ready to stop playing with my brothers. I’m not ready to stop stealing snacks. And I am definitely not ready to stop cuddling Grandma.
So… from one loyal pup to all of you wonderful humans out there, can you help me get the chemo I need to stay by my family’s side?
Whether it’s a few dollars, a share, or just a kind word, it all means the world to me and my family.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for loving dogs like me. And if you ever need a goofy, food-loving, slightly dramatic cuddle buddy… I’m your guy.
With love (and a big tail wag),
Simba
