Help Sigourney Save Her Sight and Future

Story

Help Me Save My Sight Before It’s Too Late Hi, my name is Sigourney, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do ask for help. I’ve always been the strong one, the one who figured things out, stayed tough, and kept going no matter what. But this time… I need help. I’m facing something I simply can’t get through alone. I’ve been diagnosed with a progressive and advanced eye disease called keratoconus, and it’s quickly stealing my vision. My left eye is already severely damaged and needs a cornea transplant. My right eye requires cross-linking surgery to stop the disease from taking over completely. Without these procedures, I could go totally blind. It’s terrifying. And it’s heartbreaking. My eyes have always let me see the faces of the people I love. I’ve watched my kids smile, grow, and take their first steps. I’ve seen sunsets that make you believe in God. I’ve read textbooks late into the night, dreaming of the day I’ll wear scrubs and help someone in their moment of need. But now… my world is going blurry. I’ve cried silently at appointments while hearing the words “urgent,” “severe,” and “at risk of permanent vision loss.” I’ve felt scared in a way I never have before. I’m currently a nursing student at NMSU, working toward my dream of becoming a nurse—and maybe even a doctor one day. I want to show my kids what it means to never give up, even when life gets hard. But without my sight, I can’t finish school, I can’t work, and I can’t care for others the way I know I’m meant to. My first surgery is scheduled for July 17th in Albuquerque, NM, and I’ll need to travel back and forth from Las Cruces several times, with recovery stays in between. These are high-risk procedures because my condition is so advanced. I’m hoping to raise $6,000 to cover: Medical costs for the surgeries and follow-ups Necessities for me and my children Hotel stays, food, and essentials during treatment and recovery Financial support for my mom, who is taking off work to care for me and my children Repairs to my car to make sure it's safe enough to get us back and forth to Albuquerque Basic needs for my family, since I’ll be out of work and school during this time If you’re able to give, even a small amount, please know that you’re not just helping with bills. You’re giving me hope. You’re helping a mother see her children’s faces. You’re helping a daughter keep going. You’re helping a nursing student stay in school and continue her dream of helping others. And if you can’t donate, please share this message. Every share, every kind word, every prayer or message of support it all means more than I can say. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 Thank you for helping me fight to hold on to something so precious: my vision, my future, my purpose, and the joy of seeing the people I love. With all my heart, Sigourney

Help Me Save My Sight Before It’s Too Late

Hi, my name is Sigourney, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do ask for help.

I’m hoping to raise $6,000 to cover:

Medical costs for the surgeries and follow-ups

Necessities for me and my children

Hotel stays, food, and essentials during treatment and recovery

Financial support for my mom, who is taking off work to care for me and my children

Repairs to my car to make sure it's safe enough to get us back and forth to Albuquerque

Basic needs for my family, since I’ll be out of work and school during this time

If you’re able to give, even a small amount, please know that you’re not just helping with bills.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

Thank you for helping me fight to hold on to something so precious:
my vision, my future, my purpose, and the joy of seeing the people I love.

With all my heart,
Sigourney
