Brothers (mid-80's pledge classes) -
This letter serves as an invitation to raise funds for the renovation of our fraternity house. I am among eight alums who serve on the Alumni Advisory Board in connection with the House Corporation.
In the fall of 2019, Sigma Nu will be returning to its century old home at 700 Oxford. In order to make the house livable for our newest members, it needs several structural improvements and renovations, in addition to basic items, such as couches, tables, and desks. Our financial support is extremely important to the revival and recolonization of Sigma Nu, as the House is the physical representation of our brotherhood and legacy on campus. The money we raise will be used to renovate and furnish the fraternity house. The following list is a short example of the needs and associated costs:
Front Doors - $8,000
Re-key doors to rooms - $2,500
2 Industrial washing machines - $2,500
2 Industrial driers - $2,500
Fix and replace chandelier in Chapter Room - $7,500
Epoxy floor in basement - $15,000
Repair/reinstall bathroom in basement - $2,500
Furniture for Library and Composite Room - $14,000
Furniture for Chapter Room $12,500
Furniture for rooms -$2,000 a piece- 22 rooms
Commander Room renovation -$5,000
After raising the funds in question, we will forward them to Mike Simonte, who is acting as the Treasurer for the House Corporation.
The men start to move in on August 17th, so we would like to meet our goal by then if possible. My son, Jack, is the Commander and I have seen, first hand, how hard the guys have worked to recolonize Sigma Nu. They are extremely grateful for the support they have seen from us so far and are looking forward to meeting us at Homecoming.
Thanks so much for your help,
