Hi, my name is Simon and I'm raising funds for my good friend Siggy. Siggy is a great Australian, master white good technician and asset to his community. He has been running his recycled fridge and washer business from his home that used to be a petrol station for 20 years and is beloved by the community because he gives honest advice, helps and has time for absolutely everyone never leaving anyone in the dark, never over charges and often helps anyone struggling for free, saves ALOT of white goods from landfill, also the nicest most down to earth person you will meet.
Well in the last year developers have been buying out all the properties surrounding him to build as many generic units as possible. They decided Siggys property was next.
Ever since the council has decided he can no longer operate his business from the old petrol station. They have been issuing endless fines for him to clear out everything behind his property stating things like they found rat poo so it's a hazardous area...
He took the fines to court only for the judge to rule in favour and fine him more court costs and council fines.
Fast forward to a month ago and Siggys daughter died due to schizophrenia a beautiful woman gone at only 30 years old.
Only a day later the council arrives as they decided to put the nail in the coffin.
They demand he removes EVERYTHING outside his property giving him 30 days or they will bring in workers to do it. Siggy worked tirelessly trying to save his whitegoods that are crucial to his livelihood for the parts battling through the severe depression of losing his daughter working with tears running down his face.
Despite his best efforts the 30 days come up , he thought it would be ok when they saw his efforts and they would give him an extension. He was wrong, they wanted to send a message and brought in workers instantly to clear everything causing siggy to lose white goods worth an immense amount of money and crucial for his business - basically forcing him to start from scratch.
Siggy is now forced to sell his property to sell his property for peanuts saying his property is contaminated due to being an old petrol station.
It actually makes me sick what the developers and council are doing to this man and the way it is breaking him and crippling his business.
I want to raise money for him which will go directly to him. At the moment he is struggling to pay the council fines which are much higher then he makes in a year.
Any money raised will help him immensely and give him some room to breathe. Once he is ontop of his fines he can start looking at establishing his business elsewhere although he loves his current property and has battled the council tirelessly to keep it.
Thanks for reading and from the bottom of my heart thank you to anyone that donates or even gets behind Siggy as he is a great Australian and someone that is an example to everyone.
