Help Sierra & Ross Rebuild After Tragedy

This gofundme is to honor our sweet valiant babies Jasper, Sherman, Diesel, and Izzy and to help cover vet costs, burial, and dog proof fencing to protect our babies that survived. A big thank you to everyone that has offered support and kindness thorughout the worst day of our lives. These four sweet babies were brutally slaughtered by a pack of killer dogs. All four of horse/donkey victims were rescues, either by us or someone else and were total sweethearts and completely do not deserve this injustice. Our animals are our family. Our hearts are broken and we are utterly and completely devastated.

Warning graphic: Friday morning Ross went to the barn to feed grain to our horses. He went into the barn where he saw a pitbull laying in our hay. He thought it was hit by a car or lost so he grabbed a photo and attempted to help it. Then he realized there was blood all over it. He ran to check our animals and found Jasper (gray mini donkey with a white face) and Diesel (white standard donkey) laying dead. My sweet Sherman (chestnut pinto mini horse) was bleeding out with our valiant Izzy (curly brown donkey) laying over him to protect him. The rest of the pack of killer pitbulls must have ran off just prior. In minutes Sherman passed with Ross and Izzy holding him. I rushed home from work and our wonderful vet Dr. Fordham was out immediatley to lay Izzy to rest. Her wounds were too great. Our survivor mini horse Ellie ran through the fence to escape and has a scratch in her eye and a laceration on her neck. Our vet gave a steriod for her eye, banamine for the swelling/pain, antibiotics, and stiched up her neck - thankfully she should recover. We also still have to riding horses, an ancient donkey, goats, and chickens that were unscathed.

These killer dogs ripped off my babies ears and ate them, eyes, reproductive parts, and went for their noses until they collapsed and then the jugular. Our white barn was sprayed in blood and the ground red. It was the most horrid scene we had ever seen in our lives. These dogs are still at large and have killed or attacked multiple other livestock including goats, sheep, cows/calfs, and large horses. While a report was filed with the sheriff and if these dogs come on our property they will be destroyed, it doesn't fix what has been taken from us. Those dogs' owners are at fault and we beg the local government to strengthen the laws, rules, and regulations around stray/loose dogs to protect our livestock, our family.
