Help Sierra and Daniel Through Tough Times

Donation protected
This is difficult for us. We dont typically ask for a hand out, but typically offer a hand up. We are parents of one with two in the oven! If we're going to be honest, it's been a roller coaster of a year. In March we moved out of our home in order to save money to work towards the next bigger, better, safer place. In doing so, we acquired a substantial amount of debt. We happily accepted this and more knowing we are working to better our lives. In the last week of April we purchased a truck knowing we would need it for our new temporary 'home' on wheels. The same weekend, we offered a hand up to a person in need and gave away our eco car. Little did we know THIS was the first hill of our roller coaster.

The very next weekend we experienced being in a wreck (not our fault) that totaled our spare vehicle, and put Daniel out of work for a short time. Immediately after we had home electrical and water issues... it was quite the shocking experience.

To try and recoup and get back on track, Daniel took reopened his hauling business, and took on a second job.

During the midst of this we found out we were pregnant! Although it was planned, we didn't anticipate getting pregnant quite so quickly, and with TWINS none the less!

We continued to push on and push up. Giving a hand out in doing a property cleanup to help get the property owners reestablished.

After this, Daniel's job clearance lapsed. Unfortunately, he lost his primary job. Focusing on so many other things, his business hasn't had the opportunity to kick off. After much discussion, knowing if he got another job in the industry he would not have the opportunity for FMLA to be with Sierra during the time she would need him most.

It was at this time we decided a team, this was an opportunity for Daniel to work the part-time job full time (even though it doesn't earn nearly as much). We would scrimp and save until Sierras anticipated leave date of Jan. 3 2025. During this time, Daniel has also been taking the opportunity to make a significant career change from trucking, to Law Enforcement. It is a goal he's had in mind for quite some time, and a career change that could provide significant postive changes for the entire family.

During this time, the truck we purchased also had some critical issues. Thankfully, repairs were covered under warranty. However, it hindered us further being without a vehicle in total for almost 3 weeks.

Yesterday, 11-11-24, we attended a routine visit for Sierra. Unfortunately, due to the high risk nature of the pregnancy, and extenuating circumstances during the visit, Sierra was admitted to the hospital.

Sierra will be here for the duration of her pregnancy and potentially incapable of seeing any visitors under 17 for the next term. This includes our 2.5 year old son.

We, unfortunately, have had so many physical and financial setbacks that we are not at all ready for this. This gofundme is the last thing we ever anticipated doing. We were supposed to scrimp and save till January, go into some debt till March, and start getting back on our feet in April with the prospect of Daniel's new job. To top this, we unfortunately do not currently qualify for any sort of assistance. For anyone who hasn't been through it, disability benefits don't cover enough, and can take months to pay out.

With hope in our hearts, we are reaching out for help as we navigate through these next few months. This money will help to pay our daycare, monthly bills, visitation, as well as day to day life expenses.
