The Short:

I'm looking to take a risk or two to improve my hair further (and also to get a nice wig because I'm realistic), to finish laser hair removal and get electrolysis for stragglers, and if I'm lucky to raise enough, to get at least one expensive surgery.

Unfortunately while most procedures are covered, with my HMO they have to be fully paid up front, which is why I'm asking for help.

But that does mean I should eventually get reimbursed about 80% of the costs. What money comes back will first go to spill-over expenses incurred during any recovery and everything left over will be paid forward to transition funds and other trans related mutual-aide.

About me:

Like many adult transitions, mine started as a slow process of growing awareness. 2015 is when started to feel off again in large part thanks to Life Is Strange, and by late 2016 I started to actively question. But like a fool I didn't really talk to anyone about it and didn't really come to a conclusion until January 2020.

Ironically, the onset of the pandemic actually delayed my coming out, but in early 2021 I couldn't hide it any longer, and PPE was no longer in short supply so I started working on what I could and haven't looked back since.

Despite everything in the world, I've never felt more comfortable with myself; these last two years have been some of my best, even when things have gone horribly wrong there isn't an unknown miasma making everything worse.

While my basic health care is well taken care of, the down side to HMOs (and my plan specifically) is that basically everything other than medication and voice training is out of network and has to be fully paid up front, and Social Work doesn't pay much, which is why I'm asking for help.
